The plumber runs it from his phone

This is how the plumber runs the site from his phone: enquiries, today’s jobs, on call and invoices. In the Site tab, type in a name and contacts or load the example — this page shows them at once.

The plumber’s app on a phone: the list of new enquiries.

Water leaking? First, shut off the stopcock.

While the plumber is on his way, you can stop the worst of the damage. Three things to do right now.

The plumber types the headline, the sentence under it, the notice at the top and where he goes himself, in the app’s Site tab. Until he does, the site shows its own words.

Point at the problem

Tap where you can see the water

Press a place in the house: the card says what it may be, what to do now and what it usually costs. The plumber rewrites the cards’ steps and prices in the app’s Site tab.

The site answers what it could be, what to do right now and how long it usually takes. Then the enquiry fills itself in.

Places where water can leak

Urgent — now

Cellar, by the meter

Water at the inlet or the meter usually means a cracked pipe or joint before all the taps. It is the most serious place.

  1. Shut the main stopcock by the meter.
  2. Open the lowest tap so the rest drains out.
  3. If water is near sockets, switch off the fuse.

For example: 120–320 €, about 60–180 min

Tonight

Water heater

A wet or dripping heater is most often an old safety valve or a connection. It can also be condensation.

  1. Unplug the heater from the mains.
  2. Shut the cold water feeding it.
  3. Put a bowl under it and keep clear of hot pipes.

For example: 90–250 €, about 60–150 min

Tonight

Kitchen, under the sink

Under a sink it is usually the trap, the connecting hose or the angle valve that leaks.

  1. Shut the angle valve under the sink.
  2. Empty the cupboard and put a bowl down.
  3. Photograph the joint.

For example: 60–140 €, about 40–90 min

Tonight

Radiator, upstairs

Wet under a radiator: most often a valve or a joint. The water may be hot.

  1. Shut both radiator valves.
  2. Lay a towel and a bowl, and do not touch the hot pipe.
  3. Photograph the spot.

For example: 50–120 €, about 30–80 min

Can wait till morning

Toilet

A puddle by the toilet: usually the hose or a gasket. The cistern may also be running on.

  1. Shut the small valve on the wall behind the toilet.
  2. Flush to empty the cistern.
  3. Photograph the spot.

For example: 70–160 €, about 30–70 min

These are example prices. You can change them in the plumber’s app, in the Site tab.

Enquiry

What the plumber would ask on the phone

A few answers instead of a ten-minute call. The plumber gets one alert, reads the answers in the app and taps one button.

The form checks the answers as a real one would. The enquiry it sends arrives in the plumber’s app with an alert on his phone; once he confirms when he will come, you see it right here.

This site is still blank

The plumber fills it in from his phone. Open his app and try it yourself:

  1. load the example with one press
  2. or type in your own business’s name and contacts.

Come back here and you will see them on the site.
