About this site and my mission

What I am after

I want everyone to have a system of their own, properly kept, and one person to call about all their channels: the website, Booking.com and Airbnb, the Google business profile, Facebook and Instagram, ads and email. I work alone, so that person is me: I answer a question within one working day, and you never pay for questions.

For a holiday-home owner that starts with the calendar and the money. If a platform takes, say, 15% of every booking, you pay that share again for a guest who comes back for the fifth time. I do not write the platforms off: they find the first guest, and your calendar can stay in sync with them. I want the people who already know you to have somewhere to book directly, with the money going straight to your account.

So every site built here has an admin its owner runs, usually from a phone. You change prices and seasons in seconds. You close a day and it is closed for the guest too, because the calendar on your phone is the one the guest sees. You upload and rearrange photos yourself, with no code. In a café the menu changes the same way, in a studio the weekly schedule. Prices, dates and photos do not need an email to me, and a booking, an order or a sign-up reaches your phone as an alert. Not a mockup, not a business card with a phone number.

The alerts pass a guest’s details to nobody else. Google, Apple or Mozilla delivers an empty signal with no guest name and no dates in it, and the phone fetches the text straight from your site. On Android I install the admin as an app of its own, with your name and icon, and the alerts arrive under its name.

What is yours stays yours. The domain is registered in your name. The Stripe account is yours, and the money never passes through me. If we stopped working together, I would hand over the code, the database, the photos and every credential within 14 days. The booking engine and the admin, which I use for other sites too, stay mine, but you get a permanent licence to use and change them, including with another developer. The server is ordinary Linux that any developer can take over, and if I disappeared the site would keep running: only the updates would stop. I hold nothing hostage.

Before a change shows on the site, it has to pass its checks. If one fails, the old version stays, so a guest never meets a half-broken page. I count the work as done only when both the server’s log and the live site confirm the new file.

The site runs on my own server in Lithuania. Its health is checked every 5 minutes, and if something breaks, the alert comes to me. Every night an encrypted copy is made and kept in three places, one of them locked for 30 days so that nobody can delete it. A copy is worth only what it can restore, so I rehearse the restore in a closed environment, and copies broken on purpose have to be caught.

This page holds itself to the same standard. Everything shown here works: you can try all six demonstrations in your own browser, and five of them from the owner’s side as well. The businesses in the demonstrations are made up and marked as such, while teatro.lt and roziunamas.lt are run every day by their owners. How a site is built, paid for, published and backed up is described openly rather than promised.

Who it is for

  • A holiday-home or apartment owner who wants returning guests to book directly, with Booking.com and Airbnb kept as an extra channel and a calendar in sync with both.
  • A tradesperson or service business that works with its hands and cannot always answer the phone: the customer leaves an enquiry with a photo, and you get an alert on your phone.
  • A studio, a club or a café: you change the schedule and the menu from your phone, a sign-up takes a real place, and orders reach the kitchen screen with no commission.
  • An owner who wants to leave WordPress and its plugins: the content, the links and the descriptions search engines read move to a fast site that you run yourself.
  • Anyone who needs a personal site: you fill in the photos, the text about yourself, the prices and the contact details from your phone.
  • An engineer who would rather see how it is done than read about it: the admin can be tried, and the way the server, the backups and the publishing work is described openly.

What you will not find

  • A price you only learn from the invoice. Anything extra is priced before work starts.
  • A system you cannot take with you.
  • A template other sites use too.
  • My own commission on bookings or orders. The payment provider takes its percentage, and that is the only fee on a booking.
  • Promises I cannot keep: no place in Google, and no number of bookings.
  • A sale to someone who does not need it: if you let one room a few weekends a year, I will tell you to stay on the platform.

And one more thing

The site is called Su Dievu, “with God”, and that is not decoration. I do the work as for the Lord rather than for men, so it has to be good even when nobody is looking.
